Only 65 days until Christmas. FORTY-ONE! Time flies, and the search for gifts for loved ones begins. This brings up the same question every year: What should I get my friends, colleagues, or family? To avoid the gift-giving madness and refocus on what's truly important, spending time with dear ones, Secret Santa has become a popular tradition here too. In a group, each person receives a gift from only one other. Traditionally, this is determined with handwritten slips of paper drawn by lot. To put an end to the paper chaos, you can now use our online Secret Santa tool, Santa-Rama, at Santarama, to organise your Secret Santa with your loved ones.
How does Secret Santa work with Santa-Rama?
If you are the head Secret Santa organiser, you have the honour of creating a Secret Santa round. For this, you can define a name for the round, a venue, the date and time, and a maximum budget for the Secret Santa gift. Afterwards, the head organiser enters all participants, optionally with their name and email address. After saving, emails are automatically sent to the entire Secret Santa group. An integrated link then directs individual participants to our Secret Santa selector, where they can choose wish preferences for their Secret Santa partner. It's magic! Finally, your drawn Secret Santa partner will be revealed!
The Implementation
We implemented Santa-Rama using the Drupal Content Management System, naturally responsive and with language switching for German and English. Another add-on is our Secret Santa selector, which we integrated for all participants to help them choose the perfect Secret Santa partner. But we won't reveal too much; it's better to try it out for yourself. Merry Christmas & spread the word!
