It has been just over two years since Zensations was founded. During this time, we have conceptualised, designed, and programmed for our clients for thousands of hours. Anyone familiar with this industry knows that two years is a small eternity.
So, it was time for us, too, to re-evaluate our own (web) presence and scrutinise it. Do we project externally what we live internally? Are we positioning ourselves according to our self-conception, or is it time to reinvent ourselves? Questions upon questions, to which there were clear answers in the end. What actually began as a 'small facelift' with the consideration of a website relaunch soon led to the realisation that a new screen design alone would not be enough.
"New Media Agency" becomes "Web & Communications"
For quite some time, the additional company descriptor "New Media Agency" has bothered us. "New Media" is a very broad term that, if we are honest, is not really descriptive. Community management and the development of social media relations have long been fixed points of every PR and marketing strategy, and offline and online communication and activities complement each other.

"Web & Communications" clarifies what we embody. We are a web agency that does not just see itself as a technical implementer. Rather, we are consultants who support our clients in presenting themselves online and engaging in dialogue via their website, corporate blog, and/or social media.
If you're going to do it, do it properly!
Even our logo did not escape a change. Not least because in recent years, we constantly fought against the pronunciation of "Zenzations" (yes, it is pronounced Zensations) and it simply needed to be cleaner overall. Fewer sharp edges, replaced by a modern and simple design. Through clear typography, the colour highlight of "Zen", and the elongated "I", the logo gains high recognition value, and the two rounded corners reflect the dynamism that our industry naturally brings. Our new corporate design is, of course, also complemented by printed materials such as business cards and new stationery.
Design guided by content
In fashion, our taste is influenced by the respective summer and winter collections. In web design, it's not really any different. New trends, effects, and design possibilities sprout like mushrooms, tempting one to use them. Especially on one's own website. You want to show what you're capable of, after all. However, our priority is to present the agency and our projects.

We also had to hold back and deliberately refrained from unnecessary embellishments that distract from the actual content. Primarily, our aim was to appear contemporary and present our content clearly. We streamlined and tightened, and deliberately opted against a sub-menu. "Keep it short and simple" was at the forefront of our considerations. Eyecatchers now convey at first glance what we stand for, what we do, and how we work. And that with a wink and without taking ourselves too seriously.
We naturally implemented the website according to current standards with HTML5 and CSS 3. The capabilities of Drupal 7, Compass, and Susy were fully exploited to present our new presence seamlessly across all conceivable devices and screen formats.
And now, hand on heart. How do you like the new website? We welcome your wishes, suggestions, and feedback.
